Oris 400 aquis9/12/2023 I like the long 5-day power reserve with the beat rate still being at 28800. The bracelet is super comfortable.Īccuracy after one month on the wrist is fantastic-pretty consistently around + 0.5 to + 1 a day, overall +20 seconds after 30 days. Wasn’t sure I’d be okay with the polished outer links, but in practice I actually like the versatility it adds. The dial is a gorgeous sunburst / fumé dial that changes characteristics depending on the light, and the placement of everything on the dial just makes it really clean and balanced. After returning my Pelagos due to several problems, I got this new Aquis Caliber 400 the end of last month, and I love it. /r/WatchExchange for buying, selling, trading watchesīanner photo courtesy of /u/northscylla Please take a look at our community rules and FAQ before contributing!./r/WatchHorology our sister subreddit for horology, watch appreciation, history, technical discussion and related topics.Simple Questions and Recommendations ThreadĬome hang out in the Official /r/Watches Discord! Mounted to the watch is either a black rubber strap or a multi-piece stainless-steel bracelet, secured to the wrist by a folding clasp with extension. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 120 hours (5 days), when fully wound. The “Oris Aquis Date Calibre 400” ( Ref#: 4135-07 8 24 09PEB) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 400 with 21 jewels, and 28,800 vph. The thick uneven central stainless-steel hands, the hour index markers and the circle found on the needle-style seconds hand, have all been fitted with a luminescent coating for an enhanced legibility. There is a date aperture located at the 6 o’clock position. It has stainless-steel applied hour index markers, followed by smaller white printed minute index markers circling around its periphery. Time is exhibited on a gradient blue dial very reminiscent of an ocean view that befits its “aqua” moniker and diver potential. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet). Topped by a sapphire crystal domed on both sides with an anti-reflective coating. It comes equipped with a stainless-steel screw-in crown that is protected by screwed on crown guards. It has been engraved with a 60-minute scale to assist divers with immersion times, although it can be easily used for other practical countdowns. Mounted to the case is a blue unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-proof ceramic insert. It is a major step forward by this reputable brand that further demonstrates the versatility and capabilities of their diver watches. The Oris caliber 400 movement comes equipped with anti-magnetic components and a 10-year warranty. ![]() The 43.5mm case is made of stainless-steel with an exhibition case back, which showcases a view into this aforementioned new noteworthy mechanical movement by Oris. Oris has chosen this model to debut their new entirely in-house developed caliber 400 mechanical movement, conceived by Beat Fischli, Oris's Chief Operating Officer. We've seen this case design and dial layout before, but the true novelty is found within. For those looking to take a calculated plunge into new depths, Oris has released a new "Aquis Date" model.
